November Show&Tell pt 2

This is part 2 of Show & Tell from the November meeting.

If you frighten easily, you might want to scroll to the end!

Because Carlyn brought some of her creations back from the "Day of the Dead" exhibit.

This one is particularly amusing...inspired by Mr. Playboy himself (Hugh Hefner).

Oh it gets better! Or worse, depending on your perspective of such things :)

Jack made the door prize. He named it "Don't Wake the Baby!" When you open the casket, there's a screaming, um... little being inside.

As if that wasn't enough fun, he went and made another one!

Whew! Let's look at something a bit more girly...

One of our new members brought this chic ensemble.

And, oh dear, I don't remember who made this delightful creature. I think it was another new member. After all that scary stuff, I can't remember now.

And Nark made this cute little button bracelet.

Carlyn visited a charming fabric store in Rogers, Arkansas and suggested we all go together on a field trip. She brought some samples to show us.

Our next get together will be the annual Christmas luncheon & gift exchange. Hopefully, we'll also have a lot of Show & Tell from all of our fall projects. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! See you in December.

November Show & Tell

Can you believe The Holidays are just around the corner?!

We had our November meeting on the 5th. Show & Tell is always our favorite part.

The button-eyed cutie above was made by Lisa.

And this little beauty was made by Pam.

Shari's traveling Hoffman doll has returned home looking lovely as ever.

And this chic cherie is one of Jean's creations.

And did you wonder who was peeking around the corner in the first picture?

It was another of Lisa's projects from a fun class she recently took.

We have another group to show...check back!

October Show & Tell

It's October already! That means: fall colors, pumpkins, "scary" skeletons, fairies, and we've got them all right here in our October Show & Tell!

Nark showed us this adorable pumpkin lady.

Carlyn & Shauna are busy making things for Tulsa Living Arts one-day exhibit Nov 1 "Day of the Dead." These are Carlyn's too-cute-to-be-scary creations:

Whew! After all that BOO, it's time for some whimsical fantasy cuteness...Pam's gorgeous fairy.

She was the door prize this month and lucky Jennepher won her.

Hope you have a wonderful October, enjoying the Color, Cooler weather and Creativity it inspires. See you in November!

September Show & Tell

It won't be long til we see brightly colored leaves! We got a sneak preview with the cute door prize Sherri made. It was won by Carlyn!

Carlyn added a touch of Christmas to our Show & Tell. She made this Christmas Angel in an online class by Deb Wood.

It's made of polymer clay. The wings are doubled angelina film.

Shauna brought something she purchased (left) and one of the dolls she demonstrated during the Maker Faire (rt).

Doreen made this next gentleman.

 Isn't he adorable!?

And here is Laurie's "Princess & the Pea" from Cindee Moyer's pattern. She worked on the princess during Maker Faire and finished her that evening.

The princess will be on display at the Tulsa State Fair next week.

Look what she found under all those pillows...

See you in lovely October. Happy dolling!

Tulsa Mini Maker Faire

Last weekend, TDD participated in the Tulsa MiniMaker Faire.

The idea was to show the various methods of art-doll making, such as cloth and clay.

Our ladies demonstrated stuffing & turning hands, making a wire armature, felting, working with clay. People could see dolls in different stages of construction, learn about the materials we use and ask questions.

We had a good amount of interest from faire-goers and many picked up the flyers about the club.

The children were fascinated, especially with Shauna's clay dolls. They loved those!

One little boy was scared of them. Another boy wanted to play with the dolls. We got really tickled by a little girl who loved the dolls so much, she was determined to sit down and sew one right then & there!

We had a nice assortment of our club work on display. It was an enjoyable day.

And, after MUCH frustrated sewing & seam ripping, repeat process...Laurie finished her Cindee Moyer "Princess & the Pea." We hear she's all ready for the next fair - the Tulsa State Fair! Hopefully she'll be coming for the September Show & Tell first.
