June Show & Tell

Our June meeting was quite busy. It started early with a "play day" for people who wanted to work on projects away from home. We had a potluck luncheon, business meeting, election of officers, Show & Tell, a great program and finally, a Silent Auction of dolls donated by one of our former members.

Laurie's "Alice" doll, made from an Angela Jarecki pattern. She's sitting on a Mad Hatter style hat.

Ben's sculptured busts and, below, a project he was working on before the meeting.

Janis also brought something to work on.

This was the Door Prize, made by Carlyn from an old pattern from her Home Ec class. She showed us how the darts in the pattern are key to the illusion of movement in the ballerina's pose. Janis won the door prize.

Lovely doll by Nark.

In the program, Laurie demonstrated how she uses watercolor pencils on her doll faces. Below is the demonstration face and above shows the results on her Alice doll.

Shirley, one of our TADA members, is no longer able to join us at the monthly meetings. She's had to downsize her collection and wanted to give them to the club. We decided the fairest thing to do would be to have a Silent Auction with the proceeds benefiting the club. Thank you, Shirley, for donating your beautiful dolls!

February Show & Tell

Hello! Since we're quite late posting this, there won't be any descriptions of the dolls. Towards the end, you'll see some in display cases. We loaned several to a local library for their February display.

In March, we did an "in-house workshop." We worked on projects of our own choosing and enjoyed a catered lunch together. Those pictures are posted on our Facebook page. We didn't meet in April and had a short meeting in May. Scroll upward, though, for a nice assortment of Show & Tell in our June meeting.
