Part 5 of our August meeting Show & Tell.
Uh oh! Look what we found sleeping on a cucumber...
This sweet little thing was made by Sheri for this month's door prize. The sparkly fabric is called fairy frost. She said it's very easy to use and can be found at Quilt Sampler.
And best of all, she was won by Sherrill, who had the program this month. She did a great job squeezing in a beading lesson on how to make this little purse. She deserved to win for having to teach over all the chatter!
Sherrill also brought a very special Show & Tell that brought many ooohs & aaahs. This is what we saved til last to show you...
A fabulous, antique crazy quilt.Note the date embroidered - 1885!!
And that concludes the picture tour of our August meeting. We missed getting a few pictures (it was quite a lively and busy meeting!) and apologies to those dolls. We'll get more next month.
Time to pack up and we'll see you again soon!

Laaadies and Gentlemen! She's beautiful. She's brave. She's daring.
Heeeerrre's ....Dorinda the Tightrope Walker! Dazzling audiences everywhere with her fearless feats and blue hair, Dorinda was created by Laurie from a Barbara Schoenoff pattern.
Sitting in the audience is a mysterious Lady in Red (aka Lady in Red Hat). This cutie-patootie was made by Susie. She's patiently waiting to see what comes next. Be sure to check back and you'll find out, too!

...and Fairies, Oh My!

Part 3 of our August Meeting Show & Tell
Jean's lovely Fairy. All whispy in delicate lavender. She's so gentle, the butterflys are pleased to adorn her hair and let her hold them in her hand.
Her skirt is fashioned after flower petals.A soft portrait.
And something a little more dramatic.

Still more to come; check back tomorrow!

...and Elves...

Part 2 of TDD's August meeting Show & Tell.
Please meet Doreen's Elves.
He is quite the noble gentle-elf.A gallant elf's preferred mode of transportation? A gourd, of course!
This is not a Hobbit. Shhh, he might get offended.
Hobbits don't wear such fine boots.
A very fine fellow, indeed!

Monkeys and Elves and Fairies....Oh My!!

Or should we title this: It's a Jungle Out There?
The Dolling Dames monthly meeting was very lively this week! It wasn't quite a zoo, but there were moments....Maybe these characters were an influence!
These felt critters were made by Mary Ann. Her little jungle keeps growing. We can't wait to see what she adds to it next month!
There were so many wonderful Show & Tell items that it will take several posts to display them all, so be sure to check back. You'll see elves, fairies, and other wondrous fabric confections. And a special item that we'll save for last.
