March Show & Tell part 2

Here is a late addition to our March Show & Tell. Connie had brought a picture of the art she was going to do the challenge doll from and the fabric. It's finally finished but will be going to the library display April 1 and won't be at the next meeting. She's based on a drawing by Charles Vess called "The Queen of Air and Darkness."  The body is a stump doll pattern by Di McDonald; the arms & head are modified from Cindee Moyer's "The Raven." The costume was created by free-handing & draping the same fabric as the stump-body is made from.

See you back here in April! Maybe twice - we should have some Show & Tell pictures from the monthly meeting and some from the workshop with Arley Berryhill!

Well, after a little trouble uploading to Blogspot, here are the rest of the March Show & Tell collection!

Joyce did an amazing job capturing the expression, posture & color in this Modigliani painting for the March challenge.

Can you tell if this is the doll or the painting?!

Sherry P brought this darling little sprite with button-tipped antennae.

Carlyn shared a mixed media box with tiny shoes made from paper.

Can't wait for next month - we'll see lots more dolls based on a work of art and maybe even some of the projects from the Arley Berryhill workshop! See you in April!
